10 Cute Movie Critters Who Want You Dead (Videos)

A look at some of the cutest movie critters that could also completely wreck you.

…s Babe the Pig or that dog who acted circles around Jennifer Aniston in Marley Me, movies are rife with cute animals who warm our hearts and teach us valuable life lessons. So why is it that some members of the animal kingdom also want to tear us to shreds? Is it revenge for centuries of domestication? Has our rampant deforestation and slash-and-burn profiteering run them from their woodland homes and forced them to retaliate? Or is our tender human flesh just too darn tasty?Of course, seeing a tiny little dog bite a dude in the nuts is always funny. Hollywood realized this fact many years ago, ensuring that an animal attack gag would appear in every Kevin James movie from now until the end of time. Film producer Robert Sanchez, 36, the founder of the pioneering fanboy movie website IESB.net, has been missing for roughly three weeks after allegations of sexual misconduct with his underage stepdaughter surfaced

…There was a time I was a fanboy posting on the message boards at superhero hype. I remember Sanchez always coming in to link stories from his site and thinking whatever dickhead, nobody wants to read your stupid little site. Then his site caught on and for a long time I was jealous because he had actually done it, started an important site that catered to things I was interested in. Anyways, fuck him, I win….

5 Best Ways to Describe the Freaky Monster in ‘Splice’

“Like a chicken with a baby’s head…”

…In theaters this weekend, producer Guillermo del Toro shocks audiences
with his visions of a human-animal hybrid in the movie Splice. The
monster is born from the work of two rogue scientists played by Adrien
Brody and Sarah Polley. The romantically-involved researchers splice
human and animal DNA to create a creature that truly tests the
descriptive powers of the nation’s film critics. We’ve compiled the most
creative, elucidating descriptions of the monster from around the Web:”Some
horrible thing that starts out looking like a chicken with a baby’s
head and then grows into some terrifying bald girl with pretty eyes and
ghastly birdlike legs,” writes Mick LaSalle at The San Francisco
Chronicle.”What they create looks like…

…Speaking at an event in Los Angeles to celebrate British success in Hollywood,
she said: ”I think it’s rather unfortunate that the villain in every movie
is always British, we’re such an easy target that they can comfortably make
the Brits the villains.

”It’s just nice to say we’re not snooty, stuck up, malevolent, malignant
creatures as we’re so often portrayed. We’re actually kind of cool and hip!”

in recent years.

Anthony Hopkins: 3D Technology Is Lowering Movie Standards

Says greenscreens makes actors look ‘detached’ from action

…What’s the downside to digital special effects and 3D movies overtaking theaters? One, at least, is that fans may lose sight of actors like Anthony Hopkins.
At 72 years old, the Oscar winner says offers of work have slowed in recent years, and he finds roles in movies such as his current “The City of Your Final Destination,” to be most enjoyable because films like it “are very quiet and internal.”
That is not to say that Sir Anthony doesn’t care to work with big action and special effects. He performed in recent horror tale “The Wolfman” and in the computer-animated “Beowulf.”
But with big-budget movies like “Avatar” or “Clash of the Titans” dominating major studio releases — movies in which the acting is done in front of greenscreens, and sets and stunts are digitally added into the films — character-driven dramas such as “City of Your Final Destination” get less marketing money and play on far fewer screens.
As a result, performances such as Hopkins’ portrayal of an eccentric, older gentleman named Adam…

Aaron Johnson: The Star of Kick-Ass Kicks Some Ass

Aaron Johnson, the star of the new super hero flick Kick-Ass, discusses his new movie, its excessive violence (but in a good way), how it’s an American hardcore film, super heroes, playing John Lennon in Nowhere Boy, and the possibility of a Kick-Ass sequel.

…king useless that they don’t know what to do and they try to be superheroes and they’re still pathetic. It’s funny. The quirky, geeky kids are getting all the attention in movies like Superbad. That’s where the humor is and you don’t get that sort of stuff in England. We’re humorous in a different way. What you get is an American comic book with a British director who has been around gangster movies. It puts that edge on it and you get this outcome. Someone like Matthew who just doesn’t give a…
